From Madeira to the Eiffel Tower: Fatima Lopes

Paris fashion week is endless source of inspiration. Within 9 days tens of designers and houses are presenting their new collections provoking minds and imagination. Born on the isle of Madeira, Fatima Lopes was not afraid to follow her dream of creating fashion. This way, in 1999 she becomes the first Portuguese
who participated in Paris fashion week. Since then her collections are presented in Paris twice a year. In 2000 she walked in the catwalk with the world’s most expensive bikini (made of gold and diamonds), valued 1 000 000 USD. In 2011 she surprises the world of fashion as she becomes the first designer ever whose show takes place at the Eiffel Tower!
This charismatic lady goes far beyond ready-to-wear by creating her own lines of shoes, perfumes, writing instruments, luxury jewelry and sunglasses, as well as interior decoration items. I was extremely impressed by her warm and radiant attitude, the energy which was present during the whole event in a subtle and really nice way.

This is the modern women who is combining sophisticated style of smoking-dress and rock allure of the easy-to-wear jacket. A collection built on the desire for a style which is adapting to circumstances and volt-faces of contemporary life. Overalls, deep necklines, oversize coats, structured suits, graphics and feminine dresses, modern wardrobe, which relies on bold combinations of precious materials such as wool, cashmere, leather or lace. The colors are gray, black, beige, dark cherry and deep blue.
