From Sofia with love and COCO

Coco Chanel says: “There is time for work. And time for love. That leaves no other time.”
I think when speaking of time for love, a key place occupies the self-love, this sense of care and response to personal needs, listening to one’s self and taking time*. After deciding to allocate this “me time” I found a special place in Sofia, which I am about to share with you:
It’s a beautiful and friendly place where you can relax, while a friendly team of professionals ensures that you get the best manicure and pedicure. The place is COCO Nail Sofia – dedicated to the concept of time for yourself to relax and rest, enjoy life at a slower pace. It was a real pleasure to meet with Gergana Baeva and talk about the trends this season, about the care for ourselves and about all the good things of life.
We started the conversation until my feet were enjoying bath with salts from the Dead Sea with the scent of lavender and vanilla**.
I asked Gery what is trendy when talking pedicure:
Gery Baeva: There is a freedom of choice, which is great. Everyday life is such that today I wear sneakers, tomorrow heels, therefore pedicure must endure. Very good solution is a gel because it saves time, dries quickly and is durable ***. What is important to bear in mind is that there should be no seasonality in the pedicure care. In winter we seem to forget about the legs, because they are hidden, but caring for them is important all year long: to remove dead tissue and dispose living skin.
What I liked in the saloon is they are using high-end electric file, which ensures a high level of hygiene and also saves time, because it makes the procedure very quick and efficient.
With the advent in the cold (and slightly depressing) winter season very good solution are spa procedures. They are longer in duration, but have a strong relaxing effect and masks applied act extremely beneficial during the winter.
In terms of trends in manicure, Gery explains:
It is always important to comply with the personal style, the colors we love and wear. Inspired by the opposition of fabrics and colors, this season is a season of contrast: leather – lace, street style – allure chic, metal – pearls. Combined are graphic lines and shapes, purple and red, dark purple, blue and military to the nude colors palette, matt and gloss. Unexpected collision of bold street elements and elegant details, contributes to a dynamic combination of luxurious glamour and grunge.
In other words – this season we are ramping up to nail art and half-moon trend that I like so much, is very relevant. That is the result on me:
I wonder do you recur to some beauty-relaxing treatments in the cold season? And what nail polish do you prefer – gel or classic?
* The English language has a great combination of words – me time – whose fine equivalent I haven’t found yet in Bulgarian.
** I admit that I am very meticulous in terms of sanitation and maintenance of the impeccable conditions when it comes to this type of procedures. The level of service and support of the saloon made a very good impression.
** * I still have personal internal fluctuations of placing a gel lacquer – this is why I opted for the classic version and I am delighted by the resilience and durability of the result.
