Style inspiratrice, Ivan Asen 22 and Neli Miteva – the ITW!

Neli Miteva has a degree in “Fashion Design” at the University of Applied Sciences and Design in Trier, Germany. She is developing her own collections under the brand “nelmit”. She’s been working as a freelance designer, in the field of teaching, consultancy on design concepts, fashion journalism and costume design. Among the awards won at international competitions are: the prize “Design-Innovation-Award” by the Ministry of Economics of North Rhine-Westphalia, qualification for the finals of the “Smirnoff Fashion Awards,” GRAND PRIX INTERNATIONAL FASHION DESIGN BERLIN 2003 etc. In 2007 and 2009 the magazine “GRAZIA” nominated her for “Woman of the Year” in the category “Design”. She is a co-founder of the interdisciplinary artistic team “brain store project”. In 2007 Neli creates Ivan Asen 22 – a conceptual platform for progressive young fashion designers in Sofia and in 2009 she put in place “Ivan Asen 22” foundation for presentation and support of contemporary designers. In her collections she is interested in the transformity of the form (“GAME-à-porter” with Julian Tabakov) and in telling personal stories through clothes (“Watch your Back”). Over the past years she’s been developing her own moulage technology for creating innovative forms of clothing. From September 2012 Neli Miteva is been teaching in AMD Akademie Mode und Design in Munich, Germany.
Favorite quality / virtue …being able to rely on somebody Favorite occupation ….creating concepts and materializing ideas My idea for happiness ……to be satisfied of the things you are doing but not on 100% – so that you are stimulated for more! Favorite color …a nuance lighter than aubergine purple Which reform/change/revolution impresses you most? The inner overcome. The real impact on the ones who surround you, which provoques “waves” and a visible change afterwards. Favorite designer … Hussein Chalayan (bow!) The garment I admire most is….individual-stylish-practical-wearable, all in one! Favorite styling for travel…the most important is to get in the suitcase without making an excess baggage 🙂 Favorite choice for a date…IVAN ASEN 22. The city garden of Munich in front of which a jazz-band is playing live!
