Do you like whimsical jewelry?

This post is also available in: Bulgarian French

In French, this type of jewelry is called “bijoux fantaisie” and the name itself already makes you think of something fabulous and different from daily ordinary.

Today I have a slightly different post to share. You know one of the main ideas of the blog is to showcase and support young designers and authors. This is how the idea of telling you about handmade jewelry came out.

It is always exciting to meet the author, discover the beauty of a handmade jewel. A recent meeting reminded me of the years when I lived in France and of my French friends who were great at combining luxury jewelry and accessories with handcrafted bracelets, rings, earrings of young, independent authors.

There is something very chic, very personal in this skill. I think this is the real, unique personal signature – to combine what you like, to listen to yourself and capture the beauty of the moment in a spontaneous purchase, in that love at first sight for a fine brooch, necklace, ring or bracelet.

I notice last years, when it comes to applied jewelry, I have an affinity for:

• High-quality beads
• Noble materials – silver, gold
• Non-standard materials – such as concrete

For today’s post I made a selection of three young and talented authors whose jewelry I will make you discover:

Eva Pendientes, who makes unique cool jewelry from concrete and cement: I am wearing a diamond necklace and geometric ring

Krasi Dimitrova, who masters to perfection fine knits with high-quality glass beads: I am wearing a bracelet and necklace

Petya Milanska, who is elaborating to the smallest detail her silver-wire jewelry: I am wearing rings and pendant

In Bulgaria, the applied jewelry has its good traditions thanks to Atelier Marabu – a starting point for many authors and designers, both in terms of training and supply of high quality selected materials.

Here you can see a great selection of authors with different styles, techniques and applied materials. If you are in Sofia on 7 & 8 October, you can meet them in person and buy some one of a kind jewelry at the Architect’s Club, within the Upper Shelf event.
