My dreamy destination: Mumbai

Have you noticed that the more we travel, the more we want to travel? As an endless desire to find new places, destinations, sights, meet people and cultures. For me, such a trigger was fashion – it taught me to open my senses to the different, creative and inspiring. So, little by little, I realized I really want to visit Mumbai! Here is why:
In March, during Fashion Week in Paris, the show that impressed me most, was the one of Indian designer Manish Arora. I was looking at his collection and thought that if you wear his clothes, you will never feel sad!

As a matter of fact, Mumbai is the birthplace of this colorful and inspiring designer.
Logically, twice a year – in August and April, the largest Indian city hosts a fashion week – called Lakmé Fashion Week, which includes both young talents and well-known names. In the last edition, another beloved designer whose collections I have seen in Paris participated: Rahul Mishra

In addition to fashion and authentic jewelry and accessories, Mumbai has attracted me with its warm climate – the average annual temperature is a bit over 27 degrees. Indeed, besides financial, Mumbai is also established as a commercial and entertainment capital of India, with a good flow of investment and higher standard of living.

Mumbai is also the home of Bollywood – think of The Slumdog millionaire for example.
On Instagram, I found a lot of shots and stories that only fed this desire for this far away journey. I officially put the Indian financial capital on my dreamy destinations wish list and I’m starting all the preps. The only thing that will be challenging for me is the food because I am not at all used to eating spicy meals…
For that moment, my planning starts with a flight selection. The option I find most comfortable and prefer is with KLM Royal Dutch from Amsterdam. The direct service to Mumbai starts operating as of 29 October with 3 flights per week, which will depart from Amsterdam at 13H00 CET. Flights will be effected with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
What about you, dears? Have you ever been to Mumbai? What is important to take into account during such a trip?
