The dress that looks good on everyone
This post is also available in: Bulgarian French
Today’s post is dedicated to one of my favorite clothes, namely: the shirt-dress.
As the name suggests, this is a model is strongly influenced by the cut of the shirts that overflows in a dress. In a brilliant way, this dress borrows elements from the male wardrobe, while being super feminine and elegant.
There are lots of variations on the theme – in terms of fastening, collar, waist line, etc. Classical interpretations are most often made of cotton or silk. In most cases there is no cut at the waist and silhouette is a bit loose, so it can be worn with a belt to emphasize the waist or loose.
Both practical and elegant, shirt-dresses are one of our best allies in the summer, and one of the most flattering models that look good on absolutely any body type!
This is not surprising because historically it goes back to the 50s of the last century: Christian Dior launched this type of dress as part of his New look concept in 1950. In 1954 it becomes iconic for another world-famous designer – Hubert de Givenchy.
Here’s my latest dress of this type, and here and here you can see me with other favorite models.
Are you also wearing such dresses? Do you like them?
