How to play with codes in fashion?

I’ve been thinking today is impossible to define purely “male” and “female” elements of an outfit. It’s been for ages skirts are part of the men’s wardrobe, for completely objective and traditional reasons. Even the dress, longtime considered 100% women’s outfit totally changed its statute after Marc Jacobs showed in a gorgeous lace dress couple of years ago. And still, there are elements, cuts and silhouettes that can be defined like masculine and feminine. As for me, it has always been interesting to see what happens when we go outside of the box and mix all this?
Today, more than ever, we could be whoever we want and build up our image in a way that excites us, shows the real Me and makes us feel happy and in unison with ourselves. So, I put together couple of contradictions: a men watch with one of the most feminine models of dress (the wrap-dress), sneakers and a vintage scarf. Here’s what I got :
By the way, I am super happy the watch on my wrist is the iconic Dapper York Silver by Daniel Wellington. It was totally worth waiting for! Now you can get a 15% off the whole Daniel Wellington website with my promo code styleinspiratrice ! The code is valid till 15.10.2015.
And to conclude – I am sharing with you a quote by Diana Vreeland who just in a couple of words spans the essence of all my enchantment for the fashion:
Fashion must be the most intoxicating release from the banality of the world.
